Cut to Size MFC Boards | Pre-Cut & Edge-Banded Furniture Panels

If you've ever wasted an afternoon running boards through a panel saw for a straightforward shelving job, you'll understand exactly what this service is for.

Our Cut & Edge boards are melamine-faced chipboard (MFC) panels, precision-cut to width and fully edge-banded on both long edges in our Manchester workshop — arriving on your doorstep ready to drop straight into your build. No raw edges, no additional machining, no wasted time on site.

What Is MFC Board?

Melamine-faced chipboard is the industry-standard sheet material for kitchen carcasses, wardrobe interiors, shelving, media wall builds, and bespoke fitted furniture. A chipboard core is laminated on both faces with a melamine surface, giving you a durable, low-maintenance board that's ready to use without painting, veneering, or any additional finishing.

It's the same material used in virtually every fitted kitchen manufactured in the UK — from flat-pack all the way up to bespoke trade cabinets. The difference with our Cut & Edge service is that we do the cutting and edging for you, which is where the real time saving is.

What Does Cut & Edge Mean?

Cutting is straightforward — we rip the board to your required width on our panel saw, accurate to the millimetre.

Edging is where most people either skip corners or spend significant time on site. We apply a matching melamine edge band to both long edges of every board using our industrial edgebander, giving you a seamless, professional finish that matches the face of the board. The result looks and performs exactly like a factory-produced panel — because it is one.

Who Is This For?

  • Kitchen fitters and joiners building carcasses, end panels, and plinths who want materials that arrive site-ready
  • Furniture makers who need specific widths without running full sheets through their own machinery
  • Shopfitters and interior contractors who need clean panels for shelving, display units, and fitted storage
  • Serious DIYers tackling alcove units, wardrobe builds, or home office furniture who want a trade-quality finish

Plain or Wood Grain — Which Should You Choose?

We offer two board types to cover the most common project requirements.

Our plain MFC boards come in Cashmere, Snow White, and Mouse Grey — solid colour finishes that work across a huge range of applications. Cashmere is our most popular for kitchen carcasses and furniture interiors where a neutral, warm tone is needed. Snow White suits modern handleless kitchens and painted schemes. Mouse Grey is a go-to for contemporary builds alongside darker door finishes.

Our wood grain MFC boards bring a natural oak character to furniture interiors, shelving, and exposed panels. Available in three carefully selected finishes — Cannolo Cremona Oak (cool, pale, contemporary), Gold Craft Oak (warm mid-tone, highly versatile), and Cotta Cremona Oak (rich and earthy, ideal alongside darker painted doors) — these boards deliver a timber aesthetic at a fraction of the cost and with none of the maintenance.

If your doors or carcasses are a plain colour, plain MFC is almost always the right call for internals. If your project has wood grain doors or you want exposed shelving ends to carry a timber feel through the design, wood grain board is the one.

Sizes Available

All boards are cut to a standard 2750mm length and available in the following widths:

  • 90mm — ideal for plinths, scribes, and narrow shelf lips
  • 150mm — popular for pelmet and cornice builds
  • 300mm — standard shelf depth for wall units and alcove shelving
  • 500mm — suits base unit shelving and wardrobe internals
  • 570mm — standard depth for most base cabinet interiors
  • 610mm — maximum width, ideal for worktop-height shelving and deep storage builds

Need something outside these widths? We cut bespoke sizes to order — call us on 0161 465 4007 before placing your order.

Why Aspin Collins?

We're a Manchester-based panel products manufacturer with over 14 years in the industry, operating from our Dukinfield workshop with our own CNC, panel saw, and edgebanding equipment. These boards aren't processed by a third-party cutting service — they're cut and edged by the same team that builds bespoke furniture and fitted kitchens for a living.

That means tighter tolerances, better edge quality, and boards you can actually trust to fit first time.
