Why Add Kitchen Lighting?

Under-cabinet and plinth lighting transforms a kitchen. It adds depth, makes the space feel larger, and provides practical task lighting for worktops. LED options are energy-efficient, long-lasting, and produce minimal heat — ideal for enclosed cabinet spaces.

Quick Guide: What Do I Need?

For plinth/kickboard lighting:

  • Plinth lights (one per 600mm cabinet run is a good starting point)
  • Splitter if running multiple lights
  • Dimmer/remote for adjustable brightness

For under-cabinet lighting:

  • Downlights or LED strip
  • Transformer (12V systems)
  • Extension cables if needed

For media walls/slat panels:

  • Panel light profile kits with diffuser and transformer

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these lights easy to install?

Yes — most of our LED lights are plug-and-play with simple connectors. Plinth lights and downlights can be installed with basic DIY skills. For mains connection, we recommend using a qualified electrician.

What's the difference between 12V and 230V lights?

12V lights require a transformer but are safer in enclosed spaces and easier to dim. 230V (mains voltage) lights connect directly but have fewer dimming options. Most of our plinth and under-cabinet lights are 12V for flexibility and safety.

Can I dim these lights?

Yes — our LED plinth lights and downlights are dimmable. Pair them with our wireless remotes or 4-zone dimmer units for full control over brightness.

How many plinth lights do I need?

As a guide, one light per 600mm of cabinet run gives good coverage. For a standard kitchen with 3-4 base units, a kit with 6-8 lights works well.
