Why Choose DTC Hinges?

DTC hinges are fitted in kitchens worldwide — engineered for durability, smooth action, and easy adjustment. The integrated soft close mechanism cushions doors to a gentle close every time, reducing noise and wear.

Quick Guide: Which Hinge Do I Need?

By door type:

  • Full overlay — Door covers the entire cabinet face (most common)
  • Half overlay — Two doors share a centre panel
  • Inset — Door sits flush inside the cabinet frame

By opening angle:

  • 110° — Standard opening for most cabinets
  • 155° — Wide opening for corner units or full access
  • 135° pie hinge — For angled or bi-fold corner doors

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between clip-on and adjustable hinge plates?

Clip-on plates are fixed position — the hinge simply clips onto the plate. Adjustable (CAM) plates allow you to fine-tune the door position after fitting, which is useful for getting doors perfectly aligned.

Do I need soft close hinges?

Soft close is now standard in most kitchens. It prevents doors slamming, reduces noise, and extends the life of your cabinets. All our DTC hinges include soft close as standard.

How many hinges do I need per door?

As a rule: doors up to 1000mm tall need 2 hinges, doors 1000–1500mm need 3 hinges, doors over 1500mm need 4 hinges. Heavier doors (solid wood or with glass panels) may need an extra hinge.

Will these fit my existing cabinets?

DTC hinges use standard 35mm cup boring — the same as Blum, Hettich, and most European hinge systems. If your cabinets already have 35mm holes drilled, these will fit.
