Doors and handles
All nine units come with shaker doors and drawer fronts in your choice of Cavallo or Windsor, plus brushed nickel handles — cup handles on the drawers, knobs on the doors.
Brushed nickel is the right call for a rental. It works against both door ranges, it doesn't date the way a high-polish chrome does, and it hides fingerprints and water marks far better than anything darker or shinier — which matters in a kitchen you're not the one cleaning.

Choose Your Unit Sizes
Most kitchen suppliers charge by width — a 600mm base unit costs more than a 300mm, so an awkward room costs you more than a square one. Ours doesn't work like that.
Choose the width you want for every unit in the package from the standard sizes below. Whichever combination you pick, the package price is identical.
Base unit sizes
- Single base units — 150, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500 or 600mm
- Double base unit — 700, 800, 900 or 1000mm
Base units are 720mm high and 560mm deep with a solid 18mm back panel.
Drawer pack sizes
- Drawer pack — 300, 400, 500 or 600mm
Larder unit sizes
- Larder unit — 300, 400, 500 or 600mm
Supplied with gable ends, back, three fixed shelves and a floating shelf, so you can configure the internals to suit the property.
Wall unit sizes
- Single wall units — 150, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500 or 600mm
Wall units are 720mm high and 300mm deep.
Why it matters in rental property
Rental kitchens are rarely square, rarely modern and rarely generous. Older terraces, converted flats and HMO conversions are full of chimney breasts, boiler cupboards and awkward returns. Standard widths mean filler panels, and filler panels look cheap in listing photos.

Here's how the nine unit kitchen package works in a real room, using the kind of kitchen you'll find in most northern terraced rental stock.
The room
A galley kitchen with one usable run of 3,150mm between the back door and the corner, a boiler on the wall above, and the sink already plumbed roughly two thirds along. The opposite wall has space for a full height unit and the fridge.
How the package fits
The base run — 3,150mm exactly
- 1000mm double base unit (pans and bulk storage)
- 500mm drawer pack (cutlery and utensils)
- 600mm single base unit (under the sink)
- 600mm single base unit
- 450mm single base unit (fills the last gap flush to the corner)
That's five base units totalling exactly 3,150mm. No filler panels, no scribed infill, no gap.
Order the same run from a standard supplier and you'd take three 600s, a 500 and a 1000 — 3,300mm of units into a 3,150mm wall. You'd either lose a unit or cut one down on site.
The wall run
Three wall units run above the base cabinets, stopping short of the boiler. Drop one to a 350mm or 400mm if your boiler or window sits awkwardly — again, at no extra cost.
The larder
The 500mm larder goes on the opposite wall beside the fridge space, giving the property the dry goods storage that tenants consistently rate and that most small rental kitchens don't have.

A complete, fitted-looking kitchen in a room that would normally force a compromise — for the same package price as the easy version of the same job.

We're a manufacturer, not a middleman. These QuickCab units are made in our own workshop in Manchester — CNC, panel saw and industrial edgebanding — on the same machines as our bespoke cabinetry. No showroom rent in your price, no commission-driven designer, no six week wait behind somebody else's island.

Shaker Doors: Cavallo & Windsor
Both ranges are five-piece shaker doors — genuine frame-and-panel construction with a real shadow line, not a slab with a groove routed into it. Shaker is the safest specification you can put in a rental: it reads as considered rather than basic, it suits period and modern property alike, and it won't look dated in five years the way a high gloss will.
The difference between the two comes down to colour and sizing.
Cavallo
Italian-made, with classic shaker V-grooves and a subtle woodgrain texture. The wider palette of the two — nine colours including White, Ivory, Cashmere, Light Grey, Dust Grey, Anthracite, Indigo, Sage Green and Fir Green.
Choose Cavallo if you want colour. The sage and fir greens photograph beautifully and lift a small rental kitchen well beyond its budget in a listing shot.
Windsor
Five-piece shaker with visible grain and a more traditional character. Available in White, Light Grey, Dust Grey and Indigo, and the only one of the two offering full-height 1965mm doors.
Choose Windsor if your larder is running full height, or if you want the more classic look for a period terrace or conversion.
Which for a rental?
Either works. White or light grey in both ranges is the safest all-rounder for a property you need to let quickly — bright, neutral and appealing to the widest tenant pool. If you're refurbishing to sell rather than let, the Cavallo greens are worth the look.
Assembly & QuickCab
QuickCab is the cabinet system that combines the strength of a rigid build with the convenience of flat pack. The cam and dowels arrive pre-inserted, so each cabinet goes together in around two minutes — 75% faster than a traditional flat pack, with no tools, no glue and no cryptic diagram.

How much does a kitchen for a rental property cost?
A budget rental kitchen typically runs from around £1,000 to £2,500 for supply-only units and worktop, before fitting and appliances. This nine unit package is a fixed price covering all cabinets, shaker doors, handles, hardware and a worktop, so you know your cost before you start.
Can I choose different sizes for each unit?
Yes. Pick any width from our standard range for every unit in the package, and the price doesn't change.
What sizes do the units come in?
Single base and wall units are available in 150, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500 and 600mm. The double base unit comes in 700, 800, 900 and 1000mm. Drawer packs and larder units come in 300, 400, 500 and 600mm.
What size kitchen does the 9 unit package cover?
At standard widths it covers roughly a 3 metre base run and a 1.8 metre wall run, plus a full height larder. That suits most two and three bed rentals, flats and HMO kitchens.
What's the difference between the Cavallo and Windsor doors?
Both are five-piece shaker doors. Cavallo is Italian-made and comes in nine colours including sage and fir green. Windsor has a more traditional grain and comes in four colours, and is the only range offering full-height 1965mm doors.
Are handles and hinges included?
Yes. Every package includes hinges, legs, plinths, fixings and brushed nickel handles — cup handles on the drawers and knobs on the doors. You can also choose the no-handles option if you're fitting your own.
Are these kitchen units suitable for an HMO?
Yes. The 18mm solid back panel and rigid QuickCab construction are built for heavy daily use, which is exactly what a shared household delivers.
Is the worktop included in the price?
Yes, a worktop is included in the package price and you choose the finish.
Do you supply kitchens to landlords with multiple properties?
Yes. Get in touch about volume pricing if you're fitting more than one kitchen.
How long do the kitchen units take to assemble?
Around two minutes per cabinet. The cam and dowels come pre-inserted and no tools are needed, so the full nine unit package takes roughly twenty minutes.
Do I need a kitchen fitter?
Assembly is designed to be done without trade experience. Fixing units to the wall and any plumbing or electrical work should be carried out by a competent tradesperson.

It fits because your kitchen is standard
Every UK kitchen is built from the same modules. That's the whole trick.
Base units come in fixed widths — 600mm, 700mm, 800mm, 900mm and 1000mm — at 720mm high and around 560 to 570mm deep. Howdens, Wren, Wickes, B&Q, Magnet, a local fitter: they all work to the same sizes.
Our kitchen cabinet dog bed is built to those exact modules. Unscrew the doors and hinges from the unit you want to use, keep them somewhere safe, and the insert slides into the empty carcase. The cabinet does the structural work. The insert lines it, finishes it, and turns it into a den.
Nothing is cut. Nothing is drilled. No part of your kitchen is altered — which is why the whole thing undoes in ten minutes.
Where should it go?
Usually an end-of-run base unit, where your dog can see the room without being underfoot.
In the kitchen
An end-of-run unit, an island end, or the cabinet nearest the door your dog already sleeps by. Avoid anything next to the oven.
In a utility room
The most popular choice. A utility room dog bed keeps mud, hair and wet paws out of the kitchen while your dog stays somewhere warm and central.
In a boot room
A boot room dog bed sits naturally alongside coat storage and welly racks, right where your dog comes in from a walk.
Under a worktop run
The insert sits below the worktop like any other unit, so the surface above stays usable.
If your dog already has a favourite corner, use the cabinet closest to it. Dogs take to a new bed far more readily when it's somewhere they've already chosen.
Will my dog actually fit?
The question everyone asks first. Here's the honest answer, then measure your own dog.

With a drawer — 460mm internal height
Read this first
The drawer reduces internal height to 460mm, which suits dogs under roughly 40cm at the shoulder. Taller breeds will duck to get in and won't stand or turn comfortably — so drawer versions suit smaller and lower-set dogs whatever the cabinet width.

Dogs over roughly 45kg — Great Dane, Newfoundland, St Bernard, Bernese Mountain Dog, Mastiff — aren't suited to any size in this range.

Depth is 475mm across every size. Dogs sleep curled rather than stretched flat — which is how most dogs prefer a den space, but worth knowing before you choose.

Not included — a cushion, bed or mattress. The cushions in our photographs show how the finished bed looks in use; they aren't supplied with the insert.
Use the dimensions above to choose one, and buy slightly smaller than the internal width and depth so it lies flat rather than curling up the sides.
Measure twice, order once
The breed guides are a guide. Dogs vary, crossbreeds vary more, and we can't know yours.
Before ordering, measure both:
- Your dog — lying down in its usual sleeping position, plus shoulder height standing
- Your cabinet — internal width and internal depth, not the door size
Every insert is made to order in the size and finish you choose. For that reason we're unable to accept returns on the basis that a dog does not fit the bed, will not use it, or that the insert does not suit a cabinet that was measured incorrectly. Please check both measurements carefully.
Unsure? Message us your dog's breed and measurements and the internal size of your cabinet before you order. We'd far rather talk you into a different size than have you order the wrong one.

Same board, same machines, same workshop as the fitted kitchens we make.
18mm MFC decor board — melamine-faced chipboard, the panel material used throughout fitted kitchens. Chosen here for a reason: it wipes clean, resists scratching, and doesn't absorb moisture from wet fur the way untreated timber would.
Every edge is finished with colour-matched ABS edgebanding on our industrial edgebander, so there are no raw edges to chip, swell or catch.
Cut and assembled in our own workshop in Greater Manchester on CNC equipment. We're a working joinery and panel manufacturer with over fourteen years in the trade — every slide-in pet bed insert is made in Britain to order, not sourced and resold.
Four finishes
Oak throughout, or Oak paired with Fir Green, White or Indigo — chosen to sit alongside the door colours most common in UK kitchens.

Wet paws, muddy fur, no problem
Wipe down with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners, and don't leave standing water against the edges.
Because the insert lifts out, you can take the whole thing outside for a proper clean once or twice a year — something you can't do with a bed that's been fitted permanently.

Assembly by video
One screwdriver, no joinery skills. Instead of a sheet of ambiguous diagrams we've filmed the whole build, start to finish. Your video comes with your order, so you can pause it, rewind it and watch it on your phone while you work.

Questions we get asked
Will it damage my kitchen?
No. Nothing is cut or drilled. Remove the doors and hinges, keep them safe, slide the insert in. Reverses to standard in minutes — one of the few genuine kitchen upgrades open to renters.
Will my dog actually use it?
Most dogs take to an enclosed den quickly, especially if you move their existing bedding into it and put it somewhere they already like to lie. Give it a few days rather than expecting it on the first night.
Can two dogs share one?
In the larger sizes, often yes — two small dogs will happily share a 900mm or 1000mm. Two medium dogs won't.
Can I take it with me if I move?
Yes. It slides out, and as long as your next kitchen has a standard base unit the same width, it slides straight back in.
