Corners are some of the hardest spaces to use well in any kitchen, and a well-designed L shaped corner base unit turns what would otherwise be wasted space into genuinely usable storage. Rather than losing that awkward angle to dead space behind two straight cabinets, a proper corner unit gives you a real, accessible cupboard, often large enough for bulky items like pots, pans, and mixing bowls that don't fit neatly anywhere else.
Our double base kitchen unit solves a different problem: rather than fitting two separate single cabinets side by side, with a visible join and two sets of doors, a double base combines that same width into one continuous carcass. This gives a cleaner, more considered finish along straight runs, and can make more efficient use of the internal space than two separate units pushed together.
Both units are part of our rigid kitchen cabinets range, arriving pre-assembled from the factory rather than flat-packed. That means the frame is already square and stable before it even reaches you, so there's no risk of a wonky build affecting how well your doors and worktops sit once everything's installed.

L-Shaped Corner Base Unit – Our 720mm corner unit, purpose-built to maximise corner kitchen storage in an L-shaped configuration. Solid 18mm sides, back, and shelves give it real strength and stability, while the corner design turns an otherwise awkward space into a genuinely usable cupboard.
Construction & Quality
Both units are built from durable 18mm board with solid backs and shelves for long-term strength and stability. Adjustable legs allow for perfect levelling even on uneven floors, and edges are fully finished for protection against everyday wear. As part of our rigid cabinet system, these units are designed to hold their shape and support standard worktops without the flex that can develop in cabinets built from thinner materials.
Sizing & Compatibility
Both units are available in 4 colours: White, Oak, Light Grey, and Dust Grey, to coordinate with our door and cabinet ranges. The L-shaped corner unit is designed to work with two 715mm high doors as standard, matching common UK door sizing, so it slots into an existing kitchen layout without requiring bespoke doors. Standard 720mm cabinet height (excluding adjustable legs) means both units line up with the rest of a typical UK kitchen run.
Planning Your Layout
Corner units work best when planned early in your kitchen layout, since the space they occupy affects how adjacent cabinets and worktops are cut and joined. If you're replacing an existing corner cabinet, measure the full internal corner space carefully, as L-shaped units are typically sized to specific dimensions rather than being fully adjustable on site.
Double base units are a straightforward swap for two single cabinets of the same combined width, but it's worth checking your existing internal layout, plumbing, or electrical points before committing to a single continuous carcass in that position.
