Product Description

Reed Green sits alongside Sage Green as a distinct shade rather than a close variation: slightly deeper and more grounded, a soft green with a calm, natural character. These reed green woodgrain finishing components continue the Reed Green of the doors and drawers, so every visible edge of the kitchen carries the same colour. The 30 items follow the order a kitchen is finished in, from the base to the top.

Start at the floor with the 3050mm Plinth or the 3000mm Decorative Plinth, then cover the sides of the units with the six end panels, including the reed green tall wall end panel at 990 x 375 x 18mm for taller wall units. Corners come next: a Corner Post pair, L-shaped posts in three sizes, and a straight and a curved end pillar. Last come the Tangent Cornice, Straight Square End Cornice/Pelmet and Tangent Pelmet in 3050mm lengths along the wall units. Curved versions of the plinth and cornices suit external curves only, so use them where a run of units bulges outward.

The traditional pieces fit around the finished kitchen. Solid timber (oak or painted ash) is used for a reed green kitchen pilaster, the 950 x 100 x 53mm Barrel Pilaster, plus the floor column, the bottle rack and a reed green plate rack at 1200mm. A reed green mantel kit brings the top, two sides, shelf and two corbels together as one surround, or the parts can be bought separately. Aspin Collins can deliver the whole set to any UK address, with the Reed Green doors and drawer fronts alongside it, as a UK-based supplier.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is a pilaster the same as a column in a reed green kitchen?
Not quite. The Barrel Pilaster is 950 x 100 x 53mm, a shallow 53mm depth, while the Floor Column is 950 x 80 x 80mm. Both are listed separately in solid timber, in oak or painted ash.

2. Is reed green or sage green the better choice for trims on a farmhouse kitchen?
Both suit a farmhouse look. Sage green is softer and lighter, while reed green is slightly deeper and more grounded, so it gives the trims a little more presence. Compare samples in your own light before choosing.

3. Is the reed green Straight End Pillar the right length for a 2400mm tall unit?
The Straight End Pillar measures 2400 x 100 x 50mm, so its length matches a 2400mm tall unit. Measure your own unit first. The Curved End Pillar is the same size but is made for external curves only.

4. My reed green pilaster looks darker than my doors, is that normal?
It can be. The Barrel Pilaster is solid timber in oak or painted ash, while the doors are foil wrapped, so the two take colour differently. Compare them in daylight, and call 0161 465 4007 if the match looks off.

5. Are the reed green plate rack and bottle rack optional extras or essential?
They are optional. The plinths, end panels and cornice or pelmet finish most kitchens, while the 1200mm Plate Rack and 1500mm Bottle Rack are solid timber extras for a more traditional look.

6. In what order should I fit reed green trims in a new kitchen?
A common order is plinths once the units are level, then end panels, corner posts and pillars, and the cornice and pelmet last. Check each run against your measurements before you fix anything.
