Embossed Grain Shaker Kitchen Doors

Our Embossed Grain Shaker range brings together a timeless five-piece shaker design and a finish you can actually feel. Each door is made from 22mm MDF and finished in a durable vinyl wrap, with a fine ash-grain texture embossed into the surface, so the colour has depth and a natural, crafted character rather than a flat painted look. A slim 60mm frame keeps the classic shaker style light and modern, making these vinyl wrapped kitchen doors equally at home in a cottage kitchen, a new-build family home or an open-plan extension.

Choose from eight colours, from soft neutrals such as Cashmere and Dove Grey to rich, deep shades such as Fir Green and Navy Blue, plus a warm Casella Oak effect. Every colour comes in a full range of door sizes, with matching drawer fronts and finishing components, so you can refresh a single cupboard or fit out a complete kitchen in one consistent finish.

Why Choose Embossed Grain Shaker Doors?

  • A textured, natural finish. The embossed grain catches the light and gives every door a tactile surface that hides everyday marks better than a smooth finish.
  • A slim, modern frame. At 60mm, the frame gives a lighter take on shaker style kitchen doors, ideal for smaller kitchens where a wide frame can feel heavy.
  • Stable, consistent construction. Vinyl wrapped MDF will not warp or split like solid timber, and the colour and texture stay consistent from one door to the next.
  • A complete range. Base, wall, tall and larder doors, an oven filler, pre-glazed doors, drawer fronts and finishing components are all made in the same finish.
  • Hinge drilling available. Every door can be ordered undrilled or drilled for hinges, ready to hang.

Eight Colours to Suit Any Kitchen

The range has been chosen to cover every style, from light and calm to bold and characterful.

  • Cashmere, a soft, warm neutral that sits comfortably beside stone, oak and brass.
  • Dove Grey, a pale, gentle grey that keeps small or north-facing kitchens bright.
  • Dust Grey, a balanced mid grey that hides fingerprints and suits busy family kitchens.
  • Reed Green, a muted, earthy green that brings a relaxed, natural feel.
  • Fir Green, a deep, rich green that turns a kitchen into a statement room.
  • Navy Blue, a timeless dark blue that pairs beautifully with white worktops and brass handles.
  • Indigo, an inky, almost black blue with real depth.
  • Casella Oak, a light, honeyed oak effect for the warmth of timber without the upkeep.

Because every colour shares the same design, you can also combine them: painted runs with a Casella Oak island, for example, or Navy Blue base units under Dove Grey wall cupboards for a two-tone kitchen.

Construction and Finish

These kitchen shaker doors are a genuine five-piece design, with four frame pieces around a recessed centre panel, made from 22mm MDF and finished in a wrapped surface. The ash-grain texture is pressed into the wrap, so it covers the frame and centre panel evenly and runs the full length of every door. It is what makes these textured kitchen doors look and feel crafted. The finish needs no painting, oiling or sealing; a soft cloth and warm, mildly soapy water are all it takes to keep the doors clean.

As with all wrapped doors, units next to an oven or other heat source should be fitted with heat shields, as direct or escaping heat can damage the surface. Everything else about caring for these doors is refreshingly simple.

Sizes for Every Unit

Each colour is available in 46 sizes, covering the cabinets in almost any kitchen. Widths of 297, 397, 447, 497 and 597mm suit standard 300, 400, 450, 500 and 600mm units, with narrow 147mm blank panels and 197mm pressed panels for small gaps.

  • Base and wall units: 715mm high doors, plus 570mm and 645mm heights.
  • Tall wall units: 895mm high doors.
  • Tall housings and larders: 980, 1060 and 1245mm doors, plus full-height 1965mm doors in 497mm and 597mm widths.
  • Appliances: a 110 x 597mm oven filler, and 715 x 597mm doors that suit a standard integrated dishwasher.
  • Display cabinets: five pre-glazed frame doors, from 715 x 397mm to 1060 x 497mm.

Door sizes are given as height by width. To choose the right size, measure each existing door rather than the cabinet behind it. If you are planning new shaker kitchen cabinet doors for a complete kitchen, list every door and drawer front first, then order them together.

Matching Drawer Fronts and Finishing Components

Every colour has matching drawer fronts in 140, 175, 283 and 355mm heights, with widths up to 997mm for wide pan drawers. The finishing components include end panels for wall, base and tall units, a 2400mm breakfast bar end panel, standard and ogee plinth, classic and square bullnose cornice, barrel pilasters, a tall feature end post, a shaker fronted canopy and an overmantle, so every visible edge of your kitchen matches the doors. Each colour’s door page links straight to its matching drawer fronts and components.

Choosing Handles

Doors are supplied without handles, so you can choose a style to suit your colour. Cup handles and knobs suit a traditional shaker kitchen, while slim bar handles give a more modern look. Brass works beautifully with Fir Green, Navy Blue and Reed Green, matt black suits Casella Oak and the greys, and chrome or brushed nickel keeps Dove Grey crisp and light. Our guide to the best handles for shaker kitchens and our advice on what size cabinet handles to choose will help you decide.

How Embossed Grain Shaker Compares

If you are comparing shaker doors kitchen ranges, the frame width and finish make the biggest difference to the look. Embossed Grain Shaker combines a slim 60mm frame with a textured ash grain, giving a light, crafted feel. Our Woodgrain Shaker kitchen doors have a much wider frame, between 113.5mm and 120mm depending on the colour, for a bolder, more traditional look, while our Classic 5-Piece Shaker range shares a narrow frame but has a matt finish without a woodgrain texture. If you want texture without a heavy frame, Embossed Grain Shaker sits neatly between the two.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are vinyl wrapped kitchen doors any good?

Yes. Vinyl wrapped MDF doors are stable, consistent in colour and easy to clean, and they will not warp or split like solid timber. Fit heat shields beside ovens to protect the wrapped surface.

2. Which Embossed Grain Shaker colours suit a small kitchen?

Dove Grey, Cashmere and Casella Oak keep a small kitchen light and open. Deeper shades such as Fir Green or Navy Blue work best on base units or an island, with lighter wall units above.

3. How much do Embossed Grain Shaker doors cost?

Prices start from £18.59 for an oven filler, and a standard 715 x 597mm door for a 600mm base unit is £52.02. Casella Oak is priced slightly higher, and hinge drilling adds £3.80 per door.

4. Can Embossed Grain Shaker doors be drilled for hinges?

Yes. Every door can be ordered undrilled, or drilled for hinges ready to hang. Choose the drilling option for each door size when you order.

5. Will Embossed Grain Shaker doors fit my existing kitchen units?

In most cases, yes. The doors are made in standard sizes for common UK units. Measure each existing door, not the cabinet, and choose the matching size from the list on each colour page.

6. Can I fit out a whole kitchen with Embossed Grain Shaker?

Yes. The range covers base, wall, tall and larder doors, an oven filler, glazed doors, drawer fronts, end panels, plinth and cornice, so a complete kitchen can be finished in one colour.
