Product Description

A dark kitchen is all about strong, unbroken lines, and nothing breaks them faster than a white cabinet side or a grey plinth. Each Charcoal Matt component carries the same deep, velvety near-black lacquer as the handleless Charcoal doors and drawer fronts, so the sides, base and top of every run stay dark. Charcoal kitchen side panels look especially striking on the open end of a peninsula or island, framing the units like a piece of furniture. Set against pale walls and a light floor, the effect is bold and architectural without feeling heavy.

The 19mm Charcoal Matt panels come in four sizes. A kitchen end panel 900mm high and 650mm deep finishes the side of a base run down to the floor, while the 792mm wall panel and 2400mm tall panel cover wall units and larders. A single wall panel neatly covers the end of a run of wall cabinets beside a chimney breast or window. The 2400 x 900mm breakfast bar panel can be cut down into smaller pieces, which is handy when an island needs both ends and a back panel in matching colour.

Low down, a matt plinth for kitchen units keeps the base of the run dark and recessed, so the doors appear to hover above the floor. Each length is 2800mm long and 150mm high. Up high, the straight cabinet cornice can cap the wall units or sit underneath as a pelmet. Corner posts for base and wall corners complete L-shaped and U-shaped plans. Aspin Collins delivers across the UK, and ordering kickboards for kitchen units at the same time as the doors keeps the whole dark finish from one batch.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will Charcoal Matt corner posts fit 720mm units?
Yes, the Charcoal Matt corner posts are 715mm and 720mm high, sized to suit standard 720mm base and wall units so the posts line up with the doors.

2. What should I order for a U-shaped Charcoal Matt kitchen?
A U-shaped Charcoal Matt kitchen usually needs two corner posts for each level, end panels where the runs finish, enough plinth for three walls and cornice for the wall units.

3. Can Charcoal Matt panels be fixed with adhesive?
Screws through the cabinet side are the most secure way to fix Charcoal Matt panels. A panel adhesive can be added for extra hold, but should not replace the screws.

4. Can the Charcoal Matt breakfast bar panel be cut down?
Yes, the 2400 x 900mm Charcoal Matt breakfast bar panel can be cut into smaller panels, for example to clad both ends and the back of a compact island.

5. Do Charcoal Matt panels need edging after cutting?
A cut edge on a Charcoal Matt panel is not lacquered, so plan each cut to sit against a wall, the floor or another unit, keeping the factory edges on show.

6. What shape is the Charcoal Matt shaped corner post?
The Charcoal Matt shaped corner post is 715 x 68 x 68mm, profiled to sit in the internal corner of two base runs so the J-pull doors on each side can open freely.
