Product Description

Taupe is a forgiving neutral, but loose edges still show, which is why these finishing components are painted in exactly the same soft grey-brown as the beaded doors. Along the top of the wall units, taupe kitchen cornice moulding adds a tidy crown, available in tangent and square profiles, plus curved pieces for rounded corners. Beneath the wall units, taupe pelmets for kitchen cupboards keep under-cabinet lighting and wiring out of sight. The result is a kitchen where nothing looks unfinished, even in the corners you rarely notice.

Every exposed side can be finished with a kitchen cupboard end panel in plain or tongue and groove, sized for wall, tall wall, base and tall units. For an island or breakfast bar, a larger kitchen panel covers the end in one piece, in 1200mm or 2100mm lengths. Corner posts and L corner posts finish the junctions where two runs meet, keeping corners as tidy as the ends. Tongue and groove versions bring a little texture to a plain neutral, which suits a country look.

Down at the floor, taupe plinths for kitchen cupboards close the gap beneath the base units, with standard, decorative and curved options to suit straight runs and rounded ends. To add character, choose straight or curved end pillars, a floor column or a barrel pilaster, or bring in a plate rack and bottle rack for open storage, and use the mantel pieces to make a range cooker the focal point. Curved end pillars pair naturally with curved doors at the end of a run. Aspin Collins, a UK-based retailer with countrywide delivery, finishes every item in the same matt taupe as the doors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Which taupe cornice moulding suits a traditional kitchen?
Tangent cornice gives a deeper, shaped crown that suits a traditional beaded kitchen, while the slimmer square end cornice works better for a cleaner, simpler look.

2. Why fit taupe pelmets under the wall units?
Taupe pelmets run along the underside of wall units to hide under-cabinet lights and wiring, giving the kitchen a neat, finished line at eye level.

3. Do I need an end panel on every exposed taupe cabinet?
It is best to fit one wherever a cabinet side is visible, such as the end of a run or a tall unit, so the taupe finish looks complete and the carcass is covered.

4. What are taupe L corner posts used for?
L corner posts finish the corner where two runs of units meet, with base, wall and tall wall versions available in taupe to suit each height.

5. Can taupe components frame a range cooker?
They can. Building the mantel kit in taupe around a range cooker creates a chimney breast effect, and adding tangent cornice above makes the cooking area a strong focal point.

6. Is the taupe on these trims the same shade as the doors?
Yes, each taupe trim is finished to the shade of the beaded doors, keeping the warm grey-brown consistent from the plinth at floor level to the cornice above.
