Product Description

Askeby brings a genuine flexible slatted wall panel design to an interior, clean 22mm slats with a defined 3mm gap between each one for a crisp, architectural line rather than a continuous surface. As a linear wood slat panel UK buyers can rely on, it shares the same flexible backing as the wider range, letting it wrap smoothly around curves, columns, and corners rather than sitting flat.

Available in flexible slat panel oak and walnut linear slat panel finishes, Askeby suits both minimalist homes and high-end commercial spaces, with the natural grain flowing seamlessly across the wall or ceiling it's installed on. Every slat features real wood veneer wrapped on all faces, so this curved slatted wood panel keeps a consistently premium finish from every angle, not just front-on.

As a genuine wood slat panel visible gap design, Askeby is sustainably produced using recycled materials and installs with straightforward adhesive or screw fixing. Available through Aspin Collins as part of the wider Flexii range, it's a considered choice for anyone wanting the classic linear slat look with the added flexibility a rigid panel can't offer.

Fixing Instructions

We recommend using a strong "no nails" panel adhesive to fix your panels directly to the wall. For extra support, we'd also recommend reinforcing with black matt-coated 30mm screws.

These panels can be fixed to a range of surfaces, including plasterboard, brick, lath and plaster, tiles, and plywood. The key requirement is that the underlying surface is in good condition, with no underlying moisture, large cracks, dust, or damage.

If you'd rather have your panels professionally fitted, our team offers installation across Manchester, Cheshire, and the surrounding areas, get in touch here to discuss your project.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why does Askeby have a visible gap between slats when Sundvik and Lindby don't?
Askeby's design deliberately spaces its 22mm slats with a 3mm gap for a crisp, linear look, while Sundvik and Lindby use a continuous ridge or flute pattern without gaps between sections.

2. Does the visible gap between slats make Askeby less effective at concealing an uneven wall?
It can show more of the underlying surface at each gap than a continuous ridge design, so it's worth checking your wall's flatness beforehand for the cleanest result.

3. Is Askeby a good match for a minimalist or Scandinavian-style interior?
Yes, its clean, evenly spaced linear slats suit a pared-back, minimalist aesthetic particularly well, more so than a denser ridge or fluted texture.

4. Can dust or dirt build up in the gaps between slats over time?
It's possible over the long term in a dusty environment, a soft brush attachment on a vacuum or a microfibre cloth run along the gap line every so often keeps it clear.

5. Does Askeby work in both a home and a commercial setting?
Yes, it's built for both residential and commercial application, and its clean linear look suits professional environments like offices and retail spaces particularly well.

6. Is there a maximum height Askeby can be installed to before needing a joint?
Each panel covers 2400mm in height as standard, for taller walls beyond that, panels are joined edge to edge, and planning the join line in advance keeps the slats visually continuous.
